Character Analysis Tub Hunters in the Snow free essay sample

He is also out of shape, because while he, Frank and Kenny are walking through the snow, he falls behind pretty quickly because he runs out of breath. Tub is not very intelligent. Hes a follower, and he is the character in the story that the other characters mess with, mainly Kenny. Tub basically just went along with anything Frank told him because he didnt really think much for himself. In the beginning of the story is the first time Kenny messes with Tub, pretending he is going to run him over with the truck. Tub tries to yell at Kenny, but as soon as Frank tells them to stop Tub has nothing more to say. Kenny and Frank also dont help Tub while going through fences, they could have held them for him but instead let him do it all himself as he fell behind. Tub does care what Frank and Kenny think of him. When they call him fat, he gets angry and says hes trying but its not his fault. He doesnt want them to think he cant keep a diet. Tub has a better relationship with Frank than he does with Kenny. He doesnt always understand Kennys jokes. That shows when Kenny says he hates Tub and Tub shoots him, thinking he was about to get shot. Tubs relationship with Frank was also a longer one, and probably before Kenny ever was around. Tub tells Frank how he use to stick up for him, and it seems like it has stopped since Kenny was around. After Kenny is shot, Frank and Tub worry a lot more about themselves. They stop to stay warm instead of trying to get him to the hospital fast. Frank also does not act mad at Tub for shooting Kenny. Also, before leaving for the hospital, Frank and Tub basically have a heart to heart talk where Frank promises Tub he wont say mean things to him anymore, all while Kenny is bleeding from his bullet wound. While reading Hunters In The Snow, you learn more about Tubs character. In the beginning he seems to just go with absolutely anything Frank would tell him. But, throughout the story he stands up for himself a couple times, and it shows that he is more emotional than just purely unintelligent. In the end you have a good idea of how his character is.
